OUR BOAT

Meet Bella Rain, our 26-foot RHIB (Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat) and the boat we’re proud to call home on the water. Our boat is Coast Guard certified and designed for comfortable, stable travel on the open ocean.

When we took over Ocean Eco Tours in 2024, one of the first things that made us fall in love with the company was the boat itself. The Bella Rain was built for comfortable, smooth, and exciting days exploring the ocean. With plenty of shade, comfortable padded seating, non-slip flooring, and the stability of an inflatable hull, she quickly felt like the perfect boat for our ocean safaris.

A Boat With a Story

The name Bella Rain has a special connection to the history of Ocean Eco Tours. The boat was named after the daughter of the company’s previous owner, who owned and operated Ocean Eco Tours for over 20 years. We’re honored to continue the company he built and to carry that history forward while creating our own chapter with Ocean Eco Tours.

Built for Ocean Safaris

The Bella Rain is powered by twin Yamaha 150-horsepower outboard engines, giving us the speed and range to cover more ground during our ocean safaris. That extra speed is especially valuable when we’re searching for wildlife across a large area of ocean. It also allows us to reach our manta ray sites quickly and comfortably, giving us more time to enjoy the experience once we arrive.

• Our boat has three spacious bench seats: two benches toward the bow of the boat, and one bench toward the stern. All seating is padded and equipped with backrests.

• There is convenient dry storage space under the benches where you can safely tuck away personal belongings and keep them protected while we’re out on the water.

• The entire seating area is shaded to help keep you comfortable and cool during your time on the water.

• The inflatable sides of the RHIB are another feature we love. They provide additional stability while also making it easy to sit on the tubes and slide directly into the water when it’s time to snorkel.

• When it’s time to climb back aboard, we have two heavy-duty boarding ladders at the back of the boat, making re-entry from the ocean straightforward and easy.

• We keep coolers filled with ice aboard the Bella Rain, so you’re welcome to bring along your own drinks and keep them cold throughout the trip. 

• There is no restroom aboard the Bella Rain, so we recommend using the facilities before departure.

Most importantly, our boat is set up to give you a comfortable way to experience the ocean while keeping us mobile enough to explore a large area. Whether we’re searching for whales and dolphins, heading out on an ocean safari, or making our way to our manta sites, the Bella Rain gets us there.

A Captain's View

One of the first things Brenden did after we purchased the Bella Rain was add a porthole above the captain’s chair.

​

Why? Because Brenden is always on the lookout for wildlife.

The porthole allows him to stand on the captain’s seat for a little extra height and get an even better view through his binoculars. From there, he can scan the horizon looking for whales, dolphins, seabirds, and other signs of marine life.

​

Finding wildlife is part of the adventure, and Brenden is always watching.

Smaller Groups, More Personal Experiences

The Bella Rain has a Certificate of Inspection (COI) for up to 14 passengers, but we intentionally keep our regular tour groups smaller. We believe smaller groups create a more comfortable and intimate experience for everyone on board — even if that means we don't always fill every possible seat.

​

For our Manta Ray Night Snorkels, we take up to 12 guests, while our offshore ocean safaris are limited to 6 guests. Keeping our offshore groups small gives us more flexibility on the water and allows for a more personal experience while we search for wildlife.

​

Have a group of 14? Give us a call! We are happy to take up to 14 passengers on a private charter, giving your group the entire boat and a private experience on the water.
